Chris recently created a cake for “A Night of the Stars” themed 60th birthday party styled by Alicia from Form Over Function. Alicia was using a colour palette of ivory, black and taupe and the brief was less Vegas showgirl and more 1940’s glamour.

We thought this cake looked fabulous and it is a very simple way to adorn a cake and it doesn’t have to be in black and white. - Think Grandma’s Cameo broches in taupe and cream or Wedgwood blue and white.

Chris used an oval shape, which gave the cake a really beautiful look.

It is a great way to carry a theme through out your event by using stationary with similar silhouettes. Here are a few ideas from The Wedding Paper Divas
