Chris and I have felt really blessed with the amount of support we have received since starting our business.

I think succeeding in business is a matter of hard work, a big dose of luck and support from others.

So we have been thrilled to be able to give back to the community by supporting others.

Our Winter classes kick off on Sunday June 14th with a cake design 101 class. We have added an intermediate class and a novelty cake class, these classes require more skill. It is best to have done our design 101 class first or have previous experience.

CLASS DESCRIPTION

CAKE DESIGN 101

The first half of the class will cover

•    basic cake set up

•    making ganache

•    creating the perfect base for decorating

•    covering the cake in icing

•    tips on how to create the perfect finish

The second half of the class participants learn

•    how to decorate or finish the cake employing different themes.

The classes will be held at :

INTERMEDIATE – TWO TIER GIFT BOXES

Students will learn how to set up and decorate a two tier square cake.

The first half of the class will cover

•    basic cake set up
•    learning how to construct a two tier design
•    making ganache
•    creating the perfect base for decorating
•    covering the cake in icing
•    learning how to mix colours into icing
•    tips on how to create the perfect finish

The second half of the class participants learn

•    how to decorate or finish the cake employing different themes.

On: July 12th and August 9th 2009 From: 10am – 4pm
Cost: $400 including all materials, tools, cakes,
icing, boards, chocolate and tuition

Cake Occasions Cake design studio will be holding workshops in January 2009.

Students will learn how to make a cake shaped like a round gift box with an icing bow and tag.
