Real Weddings
Friday, June 24th, 2011One of my favourite things about being in this industry, is working with some amazingly talented and inspired professionals. Creating a small piece for the event, we often don’t get to see the end result and it is always exciting to see photos of the event in full swing.
We created a beautiful Demask cake for Alicia at Form Over Function last October and her styling was beyond words.
The Wedding appears in the Winter addition of Real Weddings Magazine.
I Like To Ride My Bicycle
Monday, February 7th, 2011Here at Cake Occasions we are mad about cycling. Chris loves the outdoor variety and is out every morning at the crack of dawn. I don’t like the idea of being hit by a flying golf ball flug out of a car window by one of Sydney’s patient and accomodating drivers, so the indoor variety suits me.
Having a cake at a corporate function or a product launch is a great way to get people talking about your brand. Chris made this cake for his cycling groups christmas party and people are still talking about it.

Wedding Style Guide - Spring
Sunday, September 26th, 2010Ah Spring… I am loving all the blooms, the streets lined with pink cherry blossoms and the rustic elegance of poppies.
The spring issue of Wedding Style Guide has an amazing shot of my favourite flowers, poppies on the cover of the new issue and a sketch of some of Chris’s cakes.
Check out the beautiful simplicity of a 5 tiered cake with yellow and white grosgrain ribbon and hand made garlands. Beautiful for a bright spring or summer wedding.
Ah the things you do for your children….

Spencer, our now 4 year old, set Chris a mammoth challenge this year for his birthday cake.
A standing up, three dimensional transformer (No less). We tried to change his mind or at least Chris did, (I thought it would be an awesome challenge) but we could not sway him to a less difficult cake.
The transformer took Chris over 15 hours to construct and less then 10 seconds to demolish.
