There is nothing better than the fragrence of Gardenias, especially after light rain. But their delicate petals and short shelf life after being picked are not ideal for decorating cakes with their fresh flowers.
Chris handmade sugar gardenias in various sizes to create the cascade on Hollie and Tim’s cake, this tied in beautifully with Hollies’ dress which featured a similar motif on her gown.

I love succulents, they are the only plant that I can keep alive and they are such a bold choice to adorn cakes.
Either painted, cut out of icing or fresh they really look amazing

These are just some of the sugar roses for Catherine’s cake. Chris has also created buds and less open flowers to create the floral cascade.
He is such a trouper staying back late every night to work on flowers and the rest of the cakes he is producing this week.

This week I am going to do something a little different from our normal posts, I am going to showcase Chris making a 5 tier wedding cake from start to finish.
Introducing Catherine’s exquisite wedding cake.
All our cakes start life as an idea and then a detailed sketch, this is to give our clients an idea of what to expect.

How cute are the owl toppers ? The Bride’s friend made them and they really brought the colours of the cake together.

My favourite wedding cake this year. Stephanie had the most beautiful invitations which Chris used as inspiration for the painted Lily and Roses.
Painting a design on the cake makes the most incredible impact and is very rarely done.

Such a cute Jungle themed cake for tiny Vele’s christening. Chris was inspired by the stationary suite his Mum had bought from imprintables
